New Orleans Needs You

WE WANTED TO DO SOMETHING, but we felt powerless to do more than shed tears in the face of such overwhelming human tragedy. We're not emergency medical personnel, or firefighters, or police.
Friends and colleagues have lost everything. This is the city where the cocktail was born. This is the city that keeps it alive, and has always extended an invitation to the world to come and lose your cares. And these are the very people who welcomed us with true New Orleans hospitality. Now they-some 80,000 hospitality and tourism workers-are some of the hardest hit by this tragedy.
We may not be trained to join in the rescue effort, but we do make cocktails. So do a lot of our friends. And what could be a more appropriate way for us to help New Orleans than to see that people across the country raise New Orleans cocktails to benefit the south in their time of need.
Though this event takes place on September 12, we hope that it will carry on far beyond this date, and will inspire people to return to New Orleans when the city is restored. And until then, keep the spirit of the Vieux Care alive. Laissez les bon temps roulez!
